Jerry, this one’s for you. By request, an easy, flavorful & versatile caramelized onion dip.
Caramelized Onion Dip
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 medium onions, caramelized
- pinch of cayenne
- kosher salt
- ground pepper
- melting cheese (optional)
Put the mayo, sour cream and cream cheese in a food processor. Pulse to combine. Add the onions and cayenne and pulse until the onions are in tiny pieces. Taste and add salt and pepper to taste…or not. It’s up to you.
Want it hot? Put the dip in an oven safe ramekin, cover with whatever cheese you like and cook in a 375 degree oven for 10 minutes or so until the cheese is bubbly. Ta da!
